  • We have been stopped for the second time after obtaining approval to sell the rescueME PLB1 NZ coded unit direct into NZ from Australia... Why? Because we were much cheaper and have upset a few people in the wholesale / retail trade... So now we are back to promoting the Australian Coded unit which New Zealanders can register with AMSA in Australia... Did we mention who actually monitors the signal...

When activated the rescueME PLB1 transmits your position and your ID to the Rescue Coordination Center Canberra via satellite link. Rescue services are promptly notified of your emergency and regularly advised of your current location.

  • As you can see the Australian 50 cent coin is about a quarter of the PLBs size. The pouch is attached to it with the lanyard. Incase it is activated in the water the unit will float because of the attchment

 Product Description

SkippersMate Sorry Announcement:

... So I started actively promoting my New Zealand coded Ocean Signal PLB’s there and, even posting them by Express service, could land them into NZ for under $400 so that no customs duty is payable. I always allowed 3-5 days for them to arrive but recent feedback from delighted customers has informed me that 48hrs transit time is not unusual.

This was a Win-Win situation for both seller and customer but in doing this I have seriously pissed off the NZ Agent by selling PLB’s to you at an affordable price. His complaint for the second time, has been upheld by the manufacturer and stopped the Australian Agent who was initially very supportive of my venture and must now refuse to allow me to sell New Zealand-coded PLB’s into New Zealand therefore allowing the local agent and retailers to maintain their traditional profit margins.

However, all is not lost………….Australian-coded PLB’s are just as effective. The only difference is that you register them with AMSA in Canberra and not ----- in Wellington. They work exactly the same, anywhere in the world and any stories you hear about them having to be NZ-coded to operate them if you live in New Zealand is just rubbish.

  1. Now I have it I hope I never have to use it

Posted by Ivan on 8th Oct 2014

Not often you buy something and hope you never have to use it. Smaller than I expected. The PELB arrived in 3 days and that is quicker than I get something from the other side of town

  2. Rescue Me PLB

Posted by Unknown on 15th Sep 2014

An excellent 'little' PLB. Smaller than I thought but still looks easy enough to use if required. Doesn't weigh anything or take up space. Would recommend other people looking for a small (the smallest) PLB.

Product arrived within 3 days. Excellent tracking service.
