The following is a basic list of survival equipment to pack in your SAS Grab Bag. You must also have a life raft, PFDs, and a complete set of appropriate survival equipment for each. The survival equipment you carry will vary depending on where you boat, type of boating, the time of year, the size of your vessel, and number of passengers likely to be onboard.

All equipment should be appropriately packed and waterproofed. Confirm that the bag remains buoyant once you have packed it The content should be unpacked, checked, and serviced at the start of each boating season, then every 90 days thereafter.
